JOB INFORMATION:

JOB TITLE:                      Corporate Events Specialist

REPORTS TO:                  Senior Manager – Business Support Services

DEPARTMENT:                 Business Support Services

 LOCATION:                   Park Square, Leeds

JOB PURPOSE

An all encompassing role to manage and process all Corporate Events

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will require you to be responsible for all Corporate Actions and Distributions.

Daily Responsibilities will include:

Ensuring that all corporate actions (M&A events, capital reorganisations, name changes, security cancellations/suspensions, votes) and distributions (rights and dividends) are reflected in clients’ holdings and that appropriate authorisations/ choices are obtained from clients, e.g. whether to take up a rights issue or not, and processed accurately before the record date.

Ensure the processing of all Corporate Action acceptances and elections are completed correctly, monitored correctly and in a timely manner. This will involved both Crest message processing and the completion of necessary paperwork.

Ensure all Corporate Actions are processed with the correct Capital Gains Tax information to ensure client valuations are accurate at all times. This will involve researching each event to ensure all tax implications are reflected.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

This is a very varied role so flexibility and a ‘can do’ attitude is a must. You need to be exceptionally organised, with the ability to multitask work and be able to deliver to tight deadlines. This position requires exceptionally good communication skills, impeccable self-presentation, and good IT skills. A full awareness of FSA regulations and working practices is required for the position. There would be appropriate ongoing training received but the job holder must also acknowledge changing regulations and reiterate change to others.

You must be proficient in MS Office and have experience in dealing with stockbroking systems such as CREST and settlement systems, preferably Investmaster 4iCore.

Assistance to the business support team as and when necessary

Participation in reception rota as and when necessary
